SEO for Journalists 2

The New York Times  are also talking about SEO for journalists. I see the point about the challenge to the craft of Journalism, but isn't this just about developing that craft in a way that works for online users?

I'm sure for most journalists the reward is having their work read. If that means considering SEO, then surely adapting their craft for more online eyeballs makes sense?

SEO for Journalists

Jeff Jarvis is right on the money with his post on SEO as the new newsstand.

I'm currently working on an internal project with Jim Muttram  to embed SEO at the heart of editorial practice. This requires a huge cultural shift and is bound to meet objection from the 'Old Guard', but RBI journalists have to recognise and embrace new distribution channels such as search, blogs and RSS.

At the end of the day, its not just about SEO, but journalists understanding how to write well for the user.
